Abstract

The new compound (1,3‐diammoniumpropane)3[V4W9O40]·H2O was synthesized under solvothermal conditions. The main structural motif is a vanadium rich Keggin anion. The central tetrahedron is solely occupied by VV, while the remaining metal atom positions are statistically occupied by VV and WVI. Between the anion and the diprotonated amine molecules a pronounced hydrogen bond network is observed. Upon heating the compound decomposes in three steps.
