Abstract

We will present first results from the RV Sonne cruise SO210 which will take place offshore Chile between 35°S and 39°S in September/October 2010. Aim of the cruise is to sample and analyse sediment pore waters from active fluid
expulsion sites. Our results will provide first insights into the abundance and nature of fluid flow in this area. In the near future, the results will be complemented with isotope data (87Sr/86Sr, !2H, !18O) and interpreted along with existing bathymetric and seismic data in order to better constrain the hydrogeology of the Chilean fore arc.
