Abstract
This note describes a method for the determination
of the age of individual water mass contributions
in a mixture of water masses. The method is
based on a combination of Optimum Multi parameter
analysis and CFC analysis. Synthetic data designed
to mirror the situation in the permanent thermocline
of the eastern Indian Ocean are used to demonstrate
the method. The feasibility of applications to oceanic
data is discussed.
