Abstract

The physiological differences between homoitherm and poikolotherm species of animals hRve been elucidated and the fundamental differences of life on land or in water have been described. An energy statement has been differentiated and the methods applied for obtaining the data in this essay have been laid down. The energy created when fatening pigs, cattles and carps has been calculated and stated as the most importend relative value of the total efficiency rate as to the gross energy. To make a comparison with other species of animals literary references have been obtained and discussed.
