Abstract

This thesis gives a contribution to the Sonderforschungsbereich 574 "Volatiles and Fluids in Subduction Zones" at Kiel university. The subduction channel is formed by releasing devolatilisation processes between the descending oceanic slab and the above lying mantle wedge. Within the subduction channel high-pressure rocks (here eclogites) were transformed partly to blueschists by infiltrating fluids and were transported back from the depths to the surface. The topic of this thesis is the description of the fluidinfiltration of the eclogites during the ascent and the determination of the fluid source.
