Abstract

The Leopoldina, the German Academy of Sciences, has elected Dr Ute Hentschel Humeida, Professor of Marine Microbiology at GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel and Kiel University, as a new member. The Leopoldina brings together experts from almost all fields of research. They provide independent, science-based advice to policymakers on socially relevant issues and represent German science in international bodies
